If we are to believe OFGEM, the UK is in for a rocky ride where its electricity supply is concerned. With power stations due to close and no concrete plans for new ones, we are looking extremely thin on the ground where energy is concerned.
The government doesn’t seem to know what it’s doing to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and gas imports from abroad. Their policies on renewable sources seem weak and without clear direction to take the country forward.
What will happen over the next 3 years is still unclear. Yes there are likely to be shortages. Yes, electricity prices will continue to rise but what is clear is something must be done. The government must make this a priority and get a clear plan in place.
