Smart Meters for Now and the Future

Collecting electricity MPAN and gas MPR readings is a time consuming activity for all energy suppliers. This is more of a challenge where Companies with more than one site to collect for are concerned.
The main gas and electricity suppliers became aware of this and decided to do something about it.


The result was the Smart meter. A meter cleverly connected directly to the supplier using wireless signals, so there is no longer a need to collect the reading manually.
